Job Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer, youwill play a crucial role within our clients engineering team, concentrating onmechanical component design, and analysis to support product design. Yourresponsibilities will include collaboration with internal and externalsuppliers and manufacturing teams, aiding in the development and validation ofproduct prototypes through pilot production. Additionally, you will interfacedirectly with customers, ensuring their specifications are met with precision.Key responsibilities include:

  • Collecting Design Requirements: Work closely with the Sales team to gather and understand design requirements.
  • Customer Collaboration: Partner with customers to finalize socket or connector designs that meet their needs.
  • Technical Support: Provide robust technical support to the Sales and Applications Engineering teams.
  • Detailed Drawings: Create 3D Models and detailed mechanical drawings for machine shops to facilitate prototyping and accurate production.
  • Production Assistance: Assist the Production team in troubleshooting assembly issues to ensure smooth manufacturing processes.
  • Test Data Collection: Gather and analyze test data to support ongoing Research and Development activities.
  • Design Initiation: Select relevant seed designs or develop new designs from scratch to meet specific project requirements.
  • Fixture Design Support: Aid the Production team by designing necessary fixtures.
  • Process Improvement: Identify deficiencies in current processes and develop innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this positionwill possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in mechanical engineering designing small electro mechanical components. Specific experience in the design of electronic connectors preferred. 
  • knowledge of design of progressively stamped sheet metal parts, close tolerance injection and insert molded parts. 
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, with a strong ability to create and interpret various types of mechanical prints and drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, showcasing an in-depth understanding of mechanical principles.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with a strong capability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear and concise interactions with team members and customers.
