Job Overview

Our Client, is the market leader for highspeed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market(Mobil Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Their products helpto enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the majorTier 1 OEM’s globally. They have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally and are currentlyseeking a high energy Product Marketing Manager to join their team. 

The Global Product Marketing Manager will be responsible forsupporting and aggressively growing existing HSIO Connector revenue and drivingthe development of new HSIO Connector markets and customers.

The candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoringthe product development team in working closely with the companies global salesteam to identify, develop, and capture business opportunities worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage a team of 10  product marketing resources located inmultiple sites globally.

Formulate and execute a strategy to launch and grow majornew product platforms.

Drive new business development in new markets and customersand pursue expanded opportunities in Amphenol’s existing customer base. Createstrategic plans to grow new product revenue and growth in multiple marketsegments. Set the strategic vision for HSIO connector product line, build andmaintain product roadmaps, and translate market/customer needs into productdefinitions and requirements.

Work closely with global sales and marketing to developtools and support material to facilitate new design wins. Drive producttraining and sales promotions to prospect new opportunities.

Understand current industry applications and map futureindustry trends and translate them to a product plan.

Obtain and use analysis of competitors and competitorproducts. Identify and implement actions to out-perform competition and developpricing strategies.

Partner with engineering resources to determine and detailareas that require further development, resources, etc.

Understand customers’ technology needs, strategic directionand how the HSIO connector team can be positioned with a value solution to meetthe needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business required; MBA/MS desirable;

Specific experience with Hi-Speed connectors or cable assemblies preferred.

 5+ years of productmanagement and business development experience; preferably for an electronicsproduct line in a related market.

3+ years of experience managing a team of resources, bothdirectly reporting and shared on a global basis.

Experience managing a full product life cycle (i.e. settingstrategic vision, building and maintaining product roadmaps, etc.)

ADDITIONAL:

Must be an “A player”, a “high potential” performer; strongdesire to progress career over next ten years into general management role;

Well organized and comfortable working in a matrixedenvironment with ability to communicate effectively with cross functional,geographically dispersed and culturally diverse marketing, engineering, qualityand manufacturing teams, vendors and customers;

Strong technical aptitude combined with business acumen;

Ability to influence change in thought and behavior acrossall functional groups;

Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels,from manufacturing floor to executive management team;

Attention to detail, while maintaining perspective ontop-level goals;

Willing to travel globally and work in a global businessstructure; significant travel requirement (40-50%).
