Job Overview

Our client a small growing manufacturer of RF Connectors and cableassemblies is seeking a Director of Sales responsibilities will include settingthe overall strategic sales and marketing direction for the company, developingthe plan to achieve company growth from a sales perspective. The Directorof Sales is responsible for supervising and motivating manufacturersrepresentatives, and a distributor network, Customer Service and manages keyaccounts across all territories. As the primary marketing agent within thecompany, the Director of Sales is responsible for establishing brand identityand visibility within the industry and marketplace where the company operates. 

Reports to:                ChiefExecutive Officer

Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Planning & Implementation

Develops comprehensive sales plans and strategy to alignsales activities with the overall company vision/mission.

Implements appropriate short- and long-term sales plansto meet corporate and departmental objectives.

Develop relationships with key contacts at strategicallyimportant customers.

Initiates strategic objectives that support the company’smission and goals.

Develops key metrics, and monitors and measures results.

Works closely with other members of executive team todevelop, implement, monitor and adapt annual strategic business plan.

Develops Sales budget with full accountability, andregularly oversee/ensure that budget is line with departmental operations.

Oversees and monitors all sales activities includingplanning, selling, proposal and contract writing, sales administration, as wellas communicating client needs and requirements to Engineering and

Establish sales strategies for selling all productcategories to each identified as well as new potential market niches andcustomers.

Actively involve Engineering and Operations in allprogram business and special projects in order to ensure capability to executeon these programs.

Establishes and maintains sales incentive program.

Personally drives business at key accounts.

Establishes and maintains sales systems:

Establishes and maintains standardized workflow process& forms from first contact through post sale relationship management. 

Continuously improve system of tracking business, phonecalls, repeat business, and lost business.

Develops and manages process for managing sales activityincluding utilizing enterprise software and other relevant applications.

Provides accurate forecasts on a regular basis.

Achieves agreed upon Sales & Gross Margin Objectives.

Provides competitive feedback. Keeps Companyinformed of changing industry and customer trends and needs. Analyzescompetition, customers and sells strategically.

Keeps CEO informed regularly about sales process andgoals and their direct/indirect impact on the company.

Experience:

BA or BS degree in Engineering or Business.

10 + years of experience in sales of RF Connectors andCable assemblies and or hardware to Military, Industrial accounts

Demonstrated leadership in growing amanufacturing/distribution business by achieving corporate sales goals.

Leadership in a successful, lean (i.e., limitedresources, budgets and staff members) organization that utilizes multipletargets & industries.

5+ years of progressively responsible sales managementleadership. Broad experience in directing and getting work done throughothers.  Proven ability to effectively lead cross-functional teamsand build processes to deliver results. 

Experience and aptitude to translate customer’s needsinto sales.

Strong analytical, strategic planning and financialacumen required.

Proven problem solving and troubleshooting ability.

A well-developed network of customer contacts.

Superb communication skills both oral and written to bothinternal and external audiences.

Ability to write and deliver persuasive customerpresentations.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office &MRP experience

Ability to travel 60%
